At Uplift the Human Spirit, we are driven by a simple yet powerful mission: to empower our community’s individuals and inspire them to achieve their fullest potential. Founded in 2014 by Susan, a passionate advocate for the Hmong community in Stockton, our organization has grown from a personal endeavor into a beacon of hope for many.
Growing up and navigating the challenges of being a second-generation Hmong in the Stockton Unified School District, Susan experienced firsthand the obstacles that hindered students from reaching their potential. This inspired her to create Uplift the Human Spirit, a safe haven where individuals could find support, guidance, and the resources needed to succeed.
Our Mission
Our mission is to inspire individuals to believe in themselves, pursue their dreams, and set achievable goals. We are committed to giving back to the community through a variety of initiatives, including educational programs, scholarships, food drives, and career days. We also place a strong emphasis on preserving our cultural heritage for future generations, ensuring that our efforts not only uplift individuals today but pave the way for a brighter tomorrow.
Our Impact
Over the years, Uplift the Human Spirit has developed comprehensive programs that address the diverse needs of our community. Our initiatives include the Food Pantry, Hmong Youth Leadership Academy, Scholarship Program, and Career Fairs. In 2023, we expanded our reach to support the senior members of our community, providing them with essential resources and culturally sensitive food options.
As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our success is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our team members who volunteer their time to serve our community. We believe in the power of collective action and are grateful for the support, love, and valuable contributions of everyone involved.
